HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut state senators are returning to the Capitol for a special legislative session to vote on a revised budget for the new fiscal year that tackles a projected $960 million deficit.

The Senate is scheduled to convene Thursday morning.

Lawmakers are set to vote on the proposed $19.7 billion budget the majority Democrats reached with Democratic Gov. Dannel P. Malloy.

They’ll also vote on several budget-related bills and Malloy’s latest criminal justice legislation. Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff says there’ve been changes to the proposal, which expands juvenile court jurisdiction to offenders who are 20 or younger and makes changes to the bail system.

The House is scheduled to vote Friday.
